Going to a new doctor in King of Prussia can be overwhelming, and when it’s the practice of chiropractic—a more unique experience than that of a general doctor—the first visit can be even more so. Here at Johns Chiropractic and Rehabilitation, we want you to feel comfortable as soon as you as you walk through our doors—that’s why we’ve put together this helpful list of everything you can expect out of your first appointment with Dr. Johns.

Here’s What You Can Expect in King of Prussia During Your First Visit With Dr. Johns

When you first arrive at our office, we will ask you to fill out paperwork—this will provide Dr. Johns with helpful background about your health and chiropractic condition. However, if you would rather fill out this paperwork before you get to our office for your appointment, you can print it out here.

Once the paperwork is all filled out, you will be called in to have a consultation with Dr. Johns. During this consultation, Dr. Johns will discuss your chiropractic-related issues, as well as any concerns you may have about your chiropractic issues. Dr. Johns will also discuss the treatment options that will best resolve your chiropractic pain.

Because chiropractic issues can be complex, Dr. Johns will run a variety of specialized tests—this will help her gain a deeper understanding of your condition. During these tests, she will also be able to figure out which tissues are being damaged, as well as the severity of the damage.

In many cases, Dr. Johns may require you to get imaging or lab tests done, such as an x-ray, MRI or CT scan. These tests will enable Dr. Johns to determine whether or not there are more serious underlying issues, and she will be able to create the best treatment plan for you and your chiropractic issue.

Here at Johns Chiropractic and Rehabilitation, we want to send you back into the world feeling somewhat, if not drastically, relieved from the chiropractic pain that you have been living with. That is why, once your consultation and x-rays are completed, Dr. Johns will perform your first treatment on you during your visit. While these treatments will vary depending on your chiropractic condition, age and health, they may include spinal adjustments, physical therapies and/or soft tissue therapies.

In addition to receiving your first treatment during your first appointment, Dr. Johns will also provide you with activities for you to do at home. These activities will be specific to your chiropractic condition and they are meant to complement the chiropractic treatments you receive here at Johns Chiropractic and Rehabilitation. Although these at-home activities will vary, they may include:

• Icing a specific area
• Applying heat to a specific area
• Exercises
• Stretches
